April 29—June 2, 2013
Nancy Hamlin-Vogler will explore the Infinite in her solo show at the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery. The show will begin April 29 and run through June 2nd. Her artwork is gestural and spontaneous, while maintaining comprehensible proportions. She works on prepared paper using acrylic aqueous mediums combined with gesso, charcoal, conte, and pastels, occasionally adding pasted paper elements from silk screens or drawings. Hamlin-Vogler’s work reflects her roots in Cape Cod and Maine, with worldwide travels in between.
Hamlin-Vogler studied art at Wells College and learned the screen printing process while earning her M.A. in French literature at the University of Maine. An award winning artist, Hamlin-Vogler is a member of the St. Augustine Art Association and exhibits in gallery shows throughout Florida. For the past ten years she has co-directed the Louise Freshman Brown Art Workshops in St. Augustine.
The opening reception for the show will be Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meet Hamlin-Vogler as you enjoy viewing the artwork.
