“I look at everything in life as though I were going to paint it. Shadows, color, subject matter, how I can kick it up a notch? I love painting from nature and studying how sunlight and colors are really a combination of interacting abstract shapes creating a beautiful object. “
I grew up in Vermont surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world but I did not start painting until well into my forties and living in Florida. I have always had an inner artist but life had a way of getting in the way of actually pursuing that passion. I took some watercolor classes from some amazing world class artists and would dream of the day when I had time to actually spend time creating real art. The first painting I ever showed won a third place award and then I knew I could be a real artist. I took early retirement and started painting. In the last 14 years I have won many awards and had my paintings in several museum shows. I started in watercolor but work mostly in oil now. My paintings are collected by clients internationally.
