You are invited to spend Friday evening with us at Fifth Avenue Art Gallery in the Eau Gallie Arts District. Come to the Opening Reception on First Friday, January 5, from 5:30 pm through 8:30 pm, to see Poetic Visions, art inspired by a poem or a song. This will be a chance to get a bit of insight into an artist’s mind and vision as they merge the two arts, lyrical and visual. The inspiring verse will also be displayed along with the artwork.

A View From the Loft
Fifth Avenue Art Gallery will greet spring by hosting A View from the Loft, a celebration of the Art Students’ Guild of Brevard, TASGOB. This exhibit opens on April 3 and will run through April 29. There will be a First Friday Opening Reception at the gallery on April 6, from 5:30 pm through 8:30 pm. Guild members will be present to share their work and thoughts with you.
The Guild is where members gather three times a week to sketch or paint live models, drink coffee, and talk about art. It is the oldest art organization in Brevard County and is located on the top floor of the Arcade Building in downtown Melbourne. The Guild has offered workshops since its earliest beginnings. One of its prominent faculty, Bill Shultz, with the help of his students, created the American Impressionist Society. Some members hold membership in the Portrait Society of America as well as many of our local artists’ groups. Beginners are always welcome and encouraged by everyone. This exhibit takes a closer look at the talents and diversity of its members and offers something for everyone.
